What that meant was that the C4D development was always behind all the other Chaos Group releases, like Max (where Vray was born and is the prime DCC for Vray distribution) and Maya. and the code was based off the 3DSMax code that was developed by Chaos Group. The problem was that it wasn't developed by Chaos Group (the actual makers of Vray), a third party developer called LAUBLab were the developers for it. It used to be the most popular 3rd party render engine for Cinema4D at one point, but that was because it was one of the only production ready render engines available for Cinema4D. ![]()
